With its three suspended elements, “Pavane” is a tribute to this slow and majestic court dance, very much in vogue in 16th and 17th century Europe, danced by trios arranged in procession. “Pavane” is also this famous “musical portrait” that Gabriel Fauré composed for the Countess Greffulhe, famous for her elegance and her aerial gait !
